Juan Villodre

He finished his higher studies in music at the «Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia».

He has the «Diploma in Orchestral Conducting» from the University of Valencia, taught by the conductor Cristóbal Soler, he has obtained master classes from teachers such as Jesús López Cobos, Ferrer Ferran, Manuel Hernández Silva, Eugene Corporon, Rafael P. Vilaplana, Yaron Traub…

He has a Master’s Degree in Orchestration for Film and Television from «Berklee University of Music» receiving lectures and master classes from composers such as Hans Zimmer, Alberto Iglesias, Eva Gancedo, Claudio Ianni, Juan Bardém, Carles Cases, Harry Gregson-Williams, Trevor Jones , Dario Marianelli, Roque Baños, Lucio Godoy, Christopher Young, Richard Bellis, James Fitzpatrick, Matthijs Kieboom, Marcin Przybylowicz, Craig Stuart Garfinkle, Eímear Noone, Vince DiCola, Randy Edelman, Harry Manfredini… He has arranged, instrumented and composed numerous works for music band, chamber groups, symphony orchestra, jazz groups, film music, musicals… which have been interpreted by professional and amateur groups from all over the world (Japan, United States, Holland, Venezuela, Mexico, Spain …).

During his career as a conductor he has directed (and instrumented) Mozart’s Requiem, Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, Fauré’s Requiem, Carmina Burana, La Verbena de la Paloma, La Gran Vía, the musical «Annie», «The Hunchback of Notre Dame ”, La Rosa del Azafrán, numerous symphonies and solo concerts… He has worked with national and international soloists and with a total disparity of repertoires. He has also arranged symphonic themes for the Seville Municipal Band, Albacete Municipal Symphonic Band, among others, and singers such as Estrella Morente, Robin Torres, Nuria Fergó, Manu Tenorio or Tamara, among others.

He has been director of music bands since he was 18 years old (Banda de Música de Vara de Rey, Banda de Música de from Villalgordo del Júcar, City of Albacete Musical Union, «Banda Virgen de los Remedios» from La Roda…).
He was selected by the «Spanish Association of Orchestra Directors» to conduct the «57 Religious Music Week of Cuenca» in 2018 (concert recorded and broadcast by Radio Clásica, from Radio Nacional de España).
In turn, he is a semi-finalist in the «International Orchestral Conducting Competition» in 2018, organized by the National Symphony Orchestra of Paraguay.
During the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons he has directed the Albacete Symphony Orchestra in three programs, a Lyric Gala, a «Family Concert» and the musical «El Guardafuentes» composed by himself.
During the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 academic years, he is director of the Symphonic Band of the «Tomás de Torrejón y Velasco» Professional Conservatory of Music in Albacete.
He is currently the director of the «Youth Orchestra of Albacete».
